The LRC has long-opposed qui tam legislation, as it is encourages frivolous lawsuits and lacks proper oversight. Enforcement can undermine companies’ efforts to comply with the employment law. Under this legislation, employees are dissuaded to report an employment issue to the human resources compliance department in favor of bringing a lawsuit with a significant cash payout.
